Everyone seems to be on the bandwagon of going green. From creating oil from algae, to reducing our consumables and recycling. My wife laughs as I am the one always pulling recyclables out of the trash and throwing them into the recycle bin. Being a Seattle native, I guess I’m just conditioned to living a bit greener.
One of the challenges for me is all the magazines I throw away every month. I subscribe to fashion and photography magazines for inspiration and it seems like such a waste to toss these out, even though they are getting recycled. I imagine all the fuel the trash company burns up hauling this stuff away, make it less than green in my mind.
Well Zinio.com has come up with a pretty green solution for all those magazines. Through Zinio.com, you can choose a magazine among 200 to subscribe to for free just look for the banner that says “Hundreds of magazines, free” Search inside 10,000 of the world’s magazines One of my favorites they offer, that I don’t normally subscribe to in paper form is American Photographer. Even better is the ability to download the magazine, so you don’t have to read it online and are able to archive all the issues.
Reading on the web seems to be a bit better user experience for me as the viewer allows you to jump to any page with a simple preview as you can see in the example below
